Laborer
A. Colarusso & Son, Inc., Sand & Gravel Division, is seeking full time Laborer. Responsibilities will include general and preventative maintenance, plant repairs and servicing of equipment, operation of dump truck, front-end loader and back up for loader operator as well as various other labor responsibilities. Mechanical experience preferred and welding experience a plus. Opportunities for advancement. Overtime work is required. EOE. Paid vacation and sick time. Salary ranging from $23.00–$25.00/hr. Asphalt Paving Foreman
A. Colarusso & Son, Inc., a well-established heavy/highway construction company serving the Hudson Valley, is seeking an experienced Paving Foreman to join our experienced team.
Position Overview
The Paving Foreman will lead asphalt paving crews on commercial, municipal, and roadway projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated leader who takes pride in quality workmanship and safe, efficient operations.
Responsibilities:
– Supervise and coordinate daily activities of asphalt paving crews
– Plan and manage jobsite workflow, crew assignments, and equipment use
– Ensure projects are completed on schedule and meet quality standards
– Monitor paving operations including grade, slope, and compaction
– Maintain compliance with company safety policies and OSHA regulations
– Communicate with project managers, truck drivers, and plant personnel
– Train and mentor crew members while maintaining high productivity
Qualifications:
– 3-5+ years of experience in asphalt paving operations
– Prior supervisory or foreman experience preferred
– Strong knowledge of paving equipment, materials, and paving techniques
– Ability to read plans, grades, and project specifications
– Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills
– Valid driver’s license required; CDL a plus
Compensation & Benefits
– Wages and full benefits paid at New York State Prevailing Wage ($57.30 to $65.13)

Asphalt Plant Groundperson/Backup Operator
A. Colarusso & Son, Inc, Blacktop Division, is seeking an Asphalt Plant Groundperson/Backup Operator. Must have experience in the daily operations of a Blacktop Plant. Responsibilities will include monitoring the asphalt operation to ensure quality mix, including pre-shift inspection of plant to make sure everything is in operational order, checking all safety items, and assisting in maintenance of plant equipment. This position will also be a backup operator of the asphalt plant. Overtime work is required. EOE. Paid vacation and sick time. Salary ranging from $35.00–42.00/hr. Assistant Asphalt Paving Superintendent
A. Colarusso & Son, Inc., a well-established heavy/highway construction company serving the Hudson Valley, is seeking an Assistant Asphalt Paving Superintendent to join our experienced team.
Position Overview
The Assistant Asphalt Paving Superintendent will work closely with the Paving Superintendent to manage and coordinate asphalt paving operations while ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget.
Responsibilities:
– Work directly with the Paving Superintendent to effectively manage projects
– Participate in job costing and budgeting
– Assist paving foremen in meeting job expectations with a clear understanding of how the project was bid
– Perform jobsite layout prior to crew arrival
– Meet with customers to review and coordinate upcoming work
– Assist with job scheduling and workforce planning
– Develop and implement quality control systems
Qualifications:
– Strong understanding of asphalt paving operations
– Knowledge of job costing and budgeting processes
– Excellent organizational and communication skills
– Ability to work overtime as required
– Willingness to obtain CDL Class A (preferred)
Compensation & Benefits:
– Salary range: $65,000–$85,000, commensurate with experience
– Paid vacation and sick time

Tack Truck Driver

Will be responsible for operation of tack truck in the application of asphalt emulsion to include daily maintenance, material handling and crew support.
